This is a little film that daughter Pearl made this past winter of Brenda and I creating a piece together for the Live Coverage event at UICA. Brenda has been a great partner over the years and making art together is a nice way to celebrate our togetherness. Like most love partners we are very different in many ways and though this can somtimes cause conflict, it also creates a deep and dynamic relationship that continues to evolve year after year. Last night when our two little girls (7 and 8yrs) wanted to go to the park together by them selves I said yes right away and Brenda slowly conceded after drilling the little sisters that they were not to go into the woods and that they had to stay together. Later on I rode my bike to the park and met up with them in the playground. The girls and I went into the woods together. Brenda is cautious. I tend to throw all caution to the wind. Somewhere in between Brenda's motherly fear and my fatherly reckless abandon is a sweet spot but that spot is not always easy to find. I think Brenda and I are due to make some more paintings together soon.
