"We do not look to the things that are seen but the things that are unseen, for the things that are seen are passing away but the things that are unseen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18
This painting is coming out of a meditation on that verse. I am seeking to understand what it might mean to begin to seek a life that has true underpinnings in the reality of a spiritual world, that which is on the other side of this coin of life we wake up to every morning. This can be a real challenge living in a culture that is almost completely materialistic from top to bottom. Any progress in the direction submitting my will to God seems painfully slow and halting with more steps backward than forward. I remind myself that how I feel at any given time can be very misleading. I have to constantly remind myself that God has promised to never leave or forsake me. Fortunately his love for me is not dependent on my performance.
