We want to maintain a very open household. Hospitality. We want to be a family who knows how to welcome people in and make them feel at home because the experience of "being home" may be the most basic way for a person to feel loved and connected.
It seems to me that Jesus spent a lot of time getting people reconnected into what it means to be really alive and often enough he worked his special kind of magic around eating together. There is something about sitting around a table, eating and talking that just has a way of knitting people together.
