Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see. -Neil Postman
The story does not begin or end with us but it continues in our children. When we were children we soaked up what was in our households good and bad. We were launched into adulthood with these embedded codes and we have gone on to do the best we can. Some of these ways of thinking and responding to our environment propel us forward just as some of our internal programming continually hold us back.
Our particular household has been drenched in childhood for over twenty years now. With six children, (4 of them currently home schooled) our oldest out of the house and 20 our youngest just 8 years old, I am with children almost all the time. I like being continually pulled into the way children see the world for the way it keeps things both deeply rooted in the practical and at the same time, everything a fairytale.
