"You are most powerful when you are most silent. People never expect silence. They expect words, motion, defense, offense, back and forth. They expect to leap into the fray. They are ready, fists up, words hanging leaping from their mouths. Silence? No.” -Alison McGhee
Drawing in my sketch book helps me to be silent. I use too many words like most people do I suppose.
I have been thinking about expectations lately. How often we become angry or disappointed in a person or a situation when it does not meet up with what we carry in our head. We think it should be one way but it goes in a differnt way. It seems that these frequent disappointments often prove to be a kind of test that reveals miss directed motivations.
