I was out last night with Brenda down town. We stopped in at Mosaic which is sort of a pop up art gallery meets art fair in one of the buildings on Division Street in the Heartside neighborhood. I think their hope was to connect with the ArtPrize crowds. Several of the artists we saw there looked familiar from the Fulton Street Artisans market that we have been apart of all summer long.
There was also dance performance which is what had pulled us in. The dancers included Laura Armenta and Miss Audacious working together which was a special treat. It was so cool to experience this coming together of artists and performers. I think there may be a growing desire among the local creative community in Grand Rapids to find ways that they can work together to create larger, more compelling projects and events. This is increasing desire to collaborate may be one of the resulting effect from four waves of ArtPrize sweeping through the city.
