Winter time is about going inside. Pulling off wood from the wood pile and knocking snow off your boots so it doesn't get tracked in the house. Warm bread, hot soups, herbs upside down drying in the root cellar. Boots lined up on the corner of each stair going down to the basement.
Winter is about going inside and reevaluating the past year. It is a time to consider where you have been and where you want to go. It is a time for making plans. It is a time to renew commitments. Brenda and I got married 25 years ago this coming January 2nd. Amazing to look back over those years together.
I came across this today and it resonates with me maybe because I have a tendency to scurry around.
