I look forward to seeing this movie. As a 52 year old man some days I feel my age. I've been pretty healthy so far but when you look in the mirror as you brush your teeth and suddenly notice wrinkles where you had not noticed them before, it can toss you back a little bit. I realize there is a lot more pressure on women in our culture to look a certain way but I think both men and women need to cultivate the right kind of mindset in order to release themselves into their senior years in a way that allows them to truly get better with age.
We are bombarded through the media with images of youthful beauty. Think of all those magazines staring at you while you wait to check out at the grocery store. This obsession leaves us with a very narrow bandwidth of what constitutes beauty among the family of man. I love the content of this new film because it can help us tune in some very unique "stations" that may in turn prove to be liberating.
