This painting which is now about seven years old is showing signs of crackle in the area of the blouse, the skirt and the back of the chair. This is often seen in old paintings and is sometimes artificially done to give the painting the suggestion of age and character.
I could repair this but I have refrained from doing so because I actually like the effect. I like that the painting has shifted and become a little different on its own. I have wondered what others may think about these cracks. I re-shot the painting last week so I could show it to you and get your input. Leave the painting as it is or repair crackle areas? Please let me know what you think. You can observe the capture of the same painting before the cracks appeared in the painting gallery here.
