a new place to call home

We have been settling into our new home here in Grand Rapids Michigan. There are many lovely things about being back home one of them being a new house to decorate. We are in the process of discovering the unique personality of this particular house. It isn't just about moving in your stuff and putting the books on the shelves. It seems to be important to get a feel for what a house wants to be. The photo I have taken here is of a shelf in the dinning room that is a place to display some odds and ends that have caught my attention. Some of the objects are things that the children culled out of old wooden Kraft cheese boxes they found in the carriage house. The boxes where full of odds and ends like bottle caps, bolts, nuts, pullies, hinges and drawer pulls. We ae so thankfull to have this comfortable place to live in that allows our entire family a place to stetch out and rediscover who we are again.
