Last Sunday our family went for a picnic downtown and then visited the library. We rode our bikes and pulled a bike trailer for little Rain and the books. In fact the picnic was Rains idea. It was a beautiful end of fall day and we all had a great time together.
"In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all." Isaiah 11:6
Over the years there have been a number of times my kids have suggested things we should do that I first resisted and then went along only to find myself having a good experience I otherwise would have missed. Kids just want to have fun while grown-ups just want to get stuff done. I am really thankful for the way my children keep me connected to play.
“Play is not only our creative drive; it’s a fundamental mode of learning.” ~ David Elkind (psychologist, author)
