This little painting is called "A Time To Rest" which of course implies that there is also a time to work. I have the habit of taking a nap after lunch. Often as soon as I lie down a begin to think of things that I need to do or have forgotten about and are now over due. It takes real composure to not let my mind just go in this direction. I must choose to let myself relax and rest.
If we are truly following the path in life God has called us to we will often feel overwhelmed. I even think that may be proof that we are on the right path to begin with. The feeling of being out of our depth is supposed to bring us back to the reality of God making all things possible. Just think of Moses (who thought of himself as a bad speaker) before the burning bush when he was being called to go tell Pharaoh to let the Hebrew slaves go. He was in a sense getting called to go and do something he wasn't very good at not to mention he had a murder charge waiting for him back in Egypt.
I don't think our situation is very different. For me it is the constant possibility of running out of money that often puts my feet to the fire. I however choose to trust that God will take care of us and go ahead and take that nap.
