Grace recovering in the hospital 8/27/12
Grace with her fledgling "Feathers" she successfully mothered this spring.
Our nine year old daughter Grace went into the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Sunday night with a high fever and a very swollen eye. It seems that she had a sinus infection that may have gone into the bone around her right eye. They have her on two different antibiotics that seem to be slowly bringing her back to health. Brenda has been staying with her in the hospital room the whole time.
Grace's eye is still swollen and red but her fever is now gone and she is beginning to feel much better. She is enjoying the yummy slushies they keep bringing her. Yesterday afternoon she watched Pirates of the Caribbean with her bed propped up to viewing position and seemed pretty settled in.
A thanks goes out to all our friends and family who have been praying for Grace and our family during this difficult time. We are also very appreciative of the staff at the hospital who have been so friendly and helpful. This children's hospital is beautifully designed and filled with art at every turn. It is a real asset to the city of Grand Rapids.
