We have just eleven days remaining in our Kickstarter campaign. At the writing of this post we are exactly 39 percent funded. To receive the investments of our backers and for the backers to receive their rewards we must reach our 5K goal. If you are one of those people who have had it in the back of your mind to get on board as a backer now it the time.
I have been writing blog posts for years on the subject of creativity and in doing so the community around the artist has often come up as playing a key role in keeping the creative healthy and on track. This basic truth has never been more obvious to me then the situation I am in right now. I really need your help to pull this off. I just can't "pull my self up by my own bootstraps" on this one. The City As Muse painting is big not only because it covers 96 square feet, it is huge because this is a project that is reaching out far beyond what I would ever be able to accomplish left to my own resources. This painting is not coming into existence because it fits into any sort of current economic need, this painting is happening because of the generosity of those people who have already contributed money to help me keep paying my bills, buying groceries and painting along. Before we released the Kickstarter we received funds from a handful of local business that got us off the ground. (big thanks to Celebration Cinema, The Band of Holland, AMDG Architects, Greymatter Group, and Brightly. The Kickstarter is our last leg of fundraising that will bring the project to completion. To all of those 29 backers who have come in so far, we thank you from the bottom of our heart. To all of you still thinking about were you want to join in, go ahead and take the leap with us. You wont regret it.
